Simply Made Sunday

This is our first time doing Simply Made Sunday. We are making a watermelon cake. This week we are working on the letter Ww with watermelon as our theme so this is the perfect snack.
For this cake you need one yellow or white cake mix, white frosting, green and red food coloring, and chocolate chips. It does not have a watermelon flavor it just looks like watermelon. Mix the cake according to the directions on the box. Then add a little red food coloring to the batter. Bake in 2 round pans. When cool just cut each circle in 1/2--now you will have 4 watermelon slices. Now tint some frosting green and some red and frost as shown. Add chocolate chips for the "seeds".
My kids loved making this. We got so caught up in frosting that I forgot to take pictures of them frosting.
