Preschool Week 11

C is 43 months old

We finally had a somewhat normal week. We got back into the preschool routine. This week we focused on the letter Ss and Fall. We did Spiders, snakes, squirrels, and scarecrows. We also worked on recognizing numbers to 20 and making patterns. Our Bible story this week was Ruth and Naomi. We read the story from several different Preschool and Toddler Bibles. We also colored a picture of Ruth gathering the grain. Hopefully next week we will do some painting with grain or the tall grass that looks like grain.

We read this alphabet book that I got at the Christian Book Store and both of the boys just love it and we read it at least 15 times this week.

C made a spider out of the number 8. He put on 8 legs using pipe cleaners and tape. Then he decorated the front with wiggle eyes and sequins.

C did the S tracing and writing worksheet from starfall.com.

C turned an S into a snake and then put shapes on it in a pattern. His pattern was circle, circle, square--aab aab.

C put stars on Ss. We just used the foil stars from Walmart.

C played a game where he had to count out the number of acorns to match the number the squirrel was holding. The game was from 1-12. Thia idea came from kidsoup.com

We made squirrel headbands using coffe grounds to make the tail look fluffy. The boys loved these and wore them all week.

C created a squirrel. He cut out the squirrel and then painted glue all over it and then sprinkled coffee grounds on it to make it look fluffy. He then added a wiggle eye.

Tracing an acorn to work on fine motor skills.

Creating a scarecrow.

C spent some time playing with his Little People Farm. We had been talking about Harvest time with our Bible story of Ruth and Naomi so he said he was bringing in the Harvest. He also did a great job of playing and sharing with his brother with this actiity.

We created spider webs by weaving white yarn around a black paper plate that I had cut slits in. Then C added foam spiders to his web.

We made fall trees by painting our hand and arm brown and then using fall leaf colors and fingerprints to make the leaves. C said his tree looked just like the one outside of our kitchen window.

  4. Alright, this is off topic but looking at the pictures of your son I noticed that he and my son have 2 of the same shirts.
Wardrobe aside, it looks like a great week.
