Charlie's "for real" birthday

I know I am so slack-- Well not really slack just a busy, busy life has gotten in the way of my blog time.  We have been so busy but a good busy.

I am going to go back and try to catch up in order of all the things I have left out.  This may take we a few days-- weeks to get all caught up.

Anyway-- Charlie's 7th birthday was over Spring break so we were home the whole week and we had a lot of fun just hanging out.  On the Friday before Spring Break we took treats for Charlie's class.  He chose the theme Angry Birds Space.  All of the kids seemed to like the treat and I even got a few hugs as they left the lunchroom.  Charlie was so happy to share with his friends.

Since everyone was gone for Spring Break both of the boys parties had to wait until after break.  Charlie got to celebrate on his "for real" birthday by being off school so he started his day with his favorite "Big Waffles" and we spent most of the day building Legos and playing Star Wars.  He got to choose where to eat dinner and he chose Fuddruckers.  He got to open presents from Me, Eric and Brayden.  He got a new bigger bike that he loved and a Star Wars Angry bird bathing suit and a Lego Set.  He was a happy boy.

So Charlie had a great "for real" birthday as he called it.  I will be back soon with more birthday fun from the kid parties and the family parties.  This year the boys celebrated their birthdays for about a month.

Wonderful busy weekend

This weekend began our Spring Break and we had so much fun celebrating.  On Friday morning my niece Ashley gave birth to my sweet great niece Ella.  What a blessing she is to our family.

Then on Sunday my sweet, caring, loving, funny, sensitive, handsome, athletic Brayden turned 5.  I just can't believe that he is 5.  He is such a funny kid and he has blessed our life in so many ways.  I love him to the moon and back 500 million times.

On Sunday we just had a small family celebration.  Brayden got to choose where to go for lunch and then we gave him presents from us and had a cupcake.  Next week we will have a bowling party with his friends then the next week he will celebrate again with Charlie at a family party for both of them.

Before school got out for Spring Break Brayden took cupcakes to share with his friends for his birthday.  He took Angry Bird Star Wars cupcakes to share.

We are so blessed!!!!!!

Early Easter Celebrations

This week is the last week of school and Team Kids at church before the Spring Break.  So the kids had a couple of Easter egg hunts and parties.    They had a party at church on Wednesday Night and then Brayden had one at school on Thursday.  They had so much fun.  It was VERY cold and windy here on Thursday so the school hunt had to be inside but fun was still had by all.

Since the boys are out of school the week before Easter this year I am planning on doing some activities to reinforce the true meaning of Easter.  I will be posting about them soon.

Where does the time go??

Where does the time go??  I just don't know.  I can't believe that it has been so long since I posted.  Time just has a knack for sneaking away from me before I even know what happens.  The last three weeks someone in our house has been sick.  Brayden started it off with pneumonia.  He had to have breathing treatments and everything.  Then Eric got sick with a stomach thing and felt terrible for several days.  As if that was not enough then Charlie came home from school last Friday with at 102 temp that lasted three whole days and totally knocked him for a loop.

I think we are finally on the mend.  Spring Break started today and we have 10 whole days to relax and do what we want to do and we are very excited about it.   Hopefully we will all be well and enjoy the week ahead and the celebration of Easter.

This is how we have spent the most of the last three weeks.  Hopefully everyone is better now just in time to enjoy Spring Break.

Growing up!!

Well I knew it would happen and I am fighting it with every part of my being but I just can't stop it.  My boys are growing up and it is happening way to fast.  As much as I would love to freeze time right now and keep them forever as a first grader and a preschooler I know I can't.  I know they have to grow up and I am excited about seeing where God takes their little lives.  They both have so much to offer this world and I know it is all going to be so amazing.  Charlie has hit a mild stone in his little life that reaminds me of the book Franklin and the Tooth Fairy.  In the story they mention that you know you are growing up when you loose your teeth and new ones begin to come in.  Franklin, being a turtle, does not have any teeth to lose so he feels a little left out.  Well this was my Charlie- last year in Kindergarten it seemed to him that ALL of his friends were losing their teeth but him.  He mentioned it several times at the end of the year last year and many times over the summer.  Then first grade hit and still no loose teeth.  Then FINALLY in late November he came running to me screaming, "Mom, Mom my tooth is loose. Look, Look!!!"  Well sure enough after all that waiting he had a loose tooth.  It took several weeks but on December 11th that first baby tooth was lost and the Tooth Fairy was making a stop at our house.    I was so happy for Charlie but sad that, I coud before my very eyes see my baby growing up.

Lost first tooth on December 11, 2012
He lost it at school which made it all that much better because his friends got to see it and he got the cool tooth necklace from the office.

Well between that fantastic December day and February 2nd we have kept the Tooth Fairy quite busy.  Charlie has lost 4 teeth and he is so proud and so cute.  I love his toothless smile and watching him try to eat is so sweet.

2nd tooth lost early January 2013.

Third tooth lost late January 2013.

Fourth tooth lost on Groundhog day 2013,

I just can't believe that he is growing up so fast.  I hate it so much but I am taking in every second and enjoying every minute of watching him grow up.  These times are so amazing and precious.
