Tot-School week 2

B is 17 months old and C is 41 months old.

Our second week of Tot-School did not go as I had envisioned. Both boys were sick at the beginning of the week so we did not get everything accomplished that I wanted to. We still had a fun week and by the end of the week the boys were back to themselves so we did get in quite a bit of Tot-school.



B has enjoyed reading books in the morning while I get his breakfast ready. He is really into Thomas the Train right now.


This week we worked on the color green. B enjoyed eating green Jello Jigglers. We cut them into fish shapes to go along with his brother's preschool unit for the week.



He also enjoyed fingerpainting with green.
B had a lot of fun playing with his magna doodle this week. He liked stamping the shapes on it and just "drawing".





This week we read the Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister and then B made his own rainbow fish. He colored a coffee filter with washable markeres then we sprayed water on it and when it was dry I cut out a fish shape and gave him an eye and some small pieces of foil to glue on the fish. He really liked making the fish and he love the foil.



This week B painted the numbers 3 and 4 and then added the correct number of stickers to match the number. He again chose to add Thomas the Train stickers.



B worked on fine motor skills by sticking star stickers to a piece of paper. He actually sat and did this for about 15 minutes.



B climbed up in his brother's bed and just sat there reading several books. He looked so grown up!



We worked on B's shape puzzle and then he played a lot with his hide away toy. He had to push or click the buttons to make the animals appear. Then push them down to hide them. We did a lot of counting and he also worked on recognizing animals and this was also great for his fine motor skills.

We did not get to do all the things that I wanted to do this week but we still had a great week!

Tot-School week 1

B is 17 months and C is 41 months

This was our first official week of Tot-School and boy did we stay busy.

B loved working on his jungle animal and farm animal puzzles. It took him awhile to get the hang of it but when he did he worked them each about a dozen times.

B thought he was the stuff when he played with his brothers Geo Trax planes while his brother was napping.

B and C painted the numbers 1 and 2 this week and then added the matching number of stickers. You can see more of C's a activities in our preschool corner post.
b drew on black paper with white chalk. We have been working on the colors black and white.

B played a lot with his abc train. He loved dancing to the songs and putting the letters in the top and watching them come out in the seat. Then he decided to just sit on his train and read.

B liked playing in the salt trays that his brother was using to work on writing numbers. B worked with the salt for quite awhile. I think he just loved the texture.
This is his W snack. His brother was working on letter W this week so we had a snack of waffles and watermelon. B loved it!!

We had a great first official week of tot-school!

Tot-School Summer version 2

C is 40 months and B is 16 months.
We are still in summer mode. I am working on getting Tot-school planned for B and some for Charlie and I am working on getting preschool activities planned for Charlie along with some Bible story activities. I am planning on starting all of this next week. Here is a look at what we did this week.

Lacing Froot Loops

B stringing the Froot Loops with a little help from Mommy.


Now he has got the hang of it and can do it all by himself.


Charlie was great at stringing them. I think his favorite part was looking for ones that were broken or did not have a hole so he could eat them.

I had been working with B on the color red and I found this strawberry idea here so I thought I would give it a shot. Both boys loved making the strawberry and they turned out great!

B had a lot of fun with the paint and the glue!


Charlie was so proud of his strawberry. He loved putting on the birdseed.

3-D Pasta butterfly tree I found this activity here and I loved it. C loved it too. He thought it was cool to use pasta as butterflies.

Charlie had a good time making the 3-d pasta butterfly tree. He has really been into the book the Very Hungry Caterpillar lately so this was a perfect project for him.

Shaving cream

B really liked just playing in the shaving cream. I think he really liked the way it felt. Charlie practiced making numbers and shapes in his shaving cream.

Bubble Fish


This was such a fun project for C. He loved making the ocean by finger painting and then he thought it cool to use a rolling pin and bubble wrap to paint with. We got this idea from here. His ocean and bubble fish turned out very nice.
