Tot-School Week 4

Tot School

B is 17 months old

This week we visited the Fair. B loved the animals. He learned how to click his tongue to get the horse to look at him. Every time we would leave an animal he would sign and say more, more!

B loved playing with his Fisher Price jungle this week. It has balls so he loves it! He also likes the music it makes. Sometimes he will just play the music and dance.

B still loves all of his Thomas books. He gets them every day and reads them and looks at them. He will even look at the Thomas coloring book forever. He also likes to "read" the Thomas and friends catalog. He amazes me at how long he will sit and just look at it.

B played a lot this week with his busy ball popper. He loves to push the button and then just laugh as the balls are popping everywhere.

B played with his shape bus this week and we talked a lot about shapes. He then started stacking them and knocking them over. He got to where he was very good at stacking them and he thought it was sooooo funny to know them over. Later in the day he had a snack of bananas, strawberries, and a cookie and he tried his very best to stack his snack.

B made apple prints this week. His favorite part of making them was sticking his thumb in green to make leaves on them. As he made each print we talked about the color it was.

B painted his number 6 this week then he chose to put six thomas stickers on it.

We had a great week. B also attended his first Kindermusic class of the new semester. He is the only boy so he has lot of girlfriends to play with. He also went to his brothers play and learn group and they have a train table so he was in heaven. He played trains for a solid hour.

Preschool Week 4

C is 41 months old

This week we worked on finishing up all the things we did not get done last week. Last week our theme was Me I am special. So we had to finish up some M activities and some of our all about me book. Then we began our theme on apples. We also started some activities with the letter Aa. We hope to finish up this theme next week.

This is C working on his all about me book. This is going to be a great keepsake to look back at in a few years. I got this at Childcareland.com.
All of the All About Me Book

C made a paper plate doll to look like him. He painted the plate for the face and then decorated the shirt, shoes, and pants and glued on hair and then made facial features.

C made a mouse out of an upper case M. He really got into brainstorming M words this week and asking me what letter other words begin with.

C finished up his creation book this week. He drew a picture of Adam and a dog and then for day 7 he drew God and a church with a cross.

Letter A apple theme week 1

Our A activities this week included putting apple stickers on an Aa, a worksheet to distinguish between upper case A and lower case a. He colored the A's red and the a's yellow, we began a number book by putting apples on apple trees to match the numbers. I got this here. We made apple prints, and we ate apples. Next week we are planning a trip to the orchard and hopefully we will make apple cake.

We also went to the fair this week!!

Preschool Week 3

C is 41 months old

We had a great week but our week was a little short so we will have to finish up some activities next week. On Monday we celebrated Labor Day and daddy was home so needless to say we did not get anything accomplished. Tuesday we had several friends over for an end of the summer water playdate.

Our Bible stories this week still centered around Creation. For some reason I don't have any pictures. But C worked on his creation book and added Adam and Eve and we talked about how on Day 7 God rested. We learned how God made a time for everything-Work, Fun and Rest. Our Bible Verse this week was There is A Time For Everything.
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Summer fun water playdate

Charlie made a little project for the Grandparents this week. He put tissue paper on contact paper cut into a heart shape. Then I wrote happy grandparent's day and Charlie traced his name and we added a picture of him and then sealed it with another piece of contact paper. They look great haniging in the window and the Grandparents love it!

C made a birthday card for his aunt Kristy. He had fun drawing the pictures. This is only the second time he has actually drawn pictures on a card for someone.

"Me I am Special"

This week C began an All About Me Book. He traced his name using glitter glue for the My Name is page, We cut out pictures of his favorite food for that page, He decorated the cover to look like him, Traced the words of his favorite colors and then made used dot painters to show his favorite colors and we made his handprint for the These are my hands page. We have several pages left to finish up next week. I got this idea from childcareland.com

Another page of the All about Me Book is to show what letters he knows. I cut the letters out and just asked him what each one was and I was quite surprised to see that he recognized all the upper case letters. Then I was even more surprised that when I stepped out of the room for a few minutes he began to put the letters in order. He put all of the letters in order from A-Z. It was Awesome!!

Our letter this week was M for Me. C glued Macaroni on the letter Mm and then brainstormed M words. He came up with a lot of great M words. We have some more M activities that we will complete next week.

On Saturday we vistited the Blue Ridge Parkway and we got to meet Reader Roo and Curious George. We got to have storytime with a Park Ranger and we also
got to take a cool hike. Meeting George was the hightlight of our week!

We had a great week!! We still have some M activites and Me I am special activites to finish up this week. I will post pictures next week. We are also going to begin our Apple theme next week!!
